The A6073 was a short road west of Bishop Auckland.
It started at South Church, to the southeast of Bishop Auckland town centre, and headed west skirting the southern edge of town. Soon after crossing the A688 it entered open country before continuing on to High Etherley, where it ended at the A68 TOTSO.
Many roads have been renumbered in this part of the country and this is not an exception. Except for the easternmost section which is unclassified, the A6073 is now part of the B6282. However, it appears that it was not all renumbered at the same time. The 1974 OS One Inch sheet shows the B6282 extended as far as the former A688 on Watling Road, while the easternmost section into South Church is still shown as an un-numbered A Road, presumably still at that time the A6073. This situation is likely to have persisted until 1998 when the Bishop Auckland Eastern bypass opened, taking the A688 out of the town.
