The DfT Card Index from c2002 lists the B6236 simply as 'Nottingham'. This clearly does not refer to the original use of the number in Newcastle and it seems unlikely that it refers to the current route in Newark, which is some distance from Nottingham. Also, as many of the similar references found in the list appear to date from the 1960s or 1970s, and the current B6326 wasn't allocated until 1990.
However, until further evidence is found to describe the route, it is unknown where in Nottingham the B6236 ran.
