For other roads numbered C1118, see C1118.
The C1118 follows General Booth Road and King Brude Road in the south west of Inverness. Despite being 'only' a C road, it is the signed route for HGV traffic between the A82 and the industrial estates and A9 to the north. This is because it avoids the narrow streets and tight junction on Telford Street, which the A82 follows. The northern end of the route is a traffic light controlled junction on the A862, which combined with the swing bridge over the Caledonian Canal just to the east, can be a serious bottleneck at times.
The only intermediate junction where the C1118 does not have pririty is where it meets Leachkin Road, at a traffic light controlled junction.
The southern part of the route, across the golf course, has been realigned. Originally it met the A82 at a T-junction, a little to the west of the present line, but it now ends at Torvean Roundabout, built as part of the Inverness West Link project.
There are unfounded rumours of the C1118 being upgraded to an A or B route, possibly an extension of the A8082. No plans have been announced for this, and the new signage at Torvean Roundabout does not show a number, in accordance with its status as a C road.
