This article is about the original use of A4041 in Kidderminster.

The original route of the A4041 was a road bypassing Kidderminster to the east.
Starting on the A451 at Broadwaters, the road headed south. When the A4041 existed here the road was largely rural and Kidderminster lay to the west. Now, however, the town has grown and the whole route is urban.
The road continued, crossing a couple of arterial roads and the Birmingham to Worcester railway line twice, the second time going under a viaduct. It ended on the A442 to the south of town.
The entire road was renumbered A449 during the mass renumbering of 1935, presumably so that road did not run through the town centre. The A449 has also taken on the A442 to the south.
