This article is about the later route of A4062 in Brecknockshire.
For the original route in Glamorgan, see A4062 (Bryncethin).
For the original route in Glamorgan, see A4062 (Bryncethin).
The designation A4062 was formerly allocated to a link road east of Brecon, running parallel with the A438 (later renumbered A470). Starting on the A40 Bulwark the road headed north along Free Street and Cerrigcochion Road to end on the A438 at Bishop's Meadow.
The road was upgraded from the B4557 around 1960 but after the Brecon Bypass was built, it was downgraded to the B4602, except for the southernmost section which is unclassified. It is interesting that the ex-A4062 is now the main road out of Brecon to the northeast, as the parallel ex-A438 is unclassified.
