The B5000 is a largely rural B-road in the central Midlands.
The road starts on the Anker Drive Magic Gyratory in the centre of Tamworth. At present the B5000 meets the A453 here but it originally started on the A51 (which still runs nearby). Our road heads east through the Warwickshire side of Tamworth, via a number of roundabouts and a short dualled section, entering the Warwickshire council area just before going over the M42.
The road soon enters Polesworth, where it crosses the Coventry Canal either side of the village centre. After going over the West Coast Main Line it crosses the canal for a third time before going over the River Anker at Grendon. The road ends a mile further on, having crossed into Leicestershire, on the B4116 at Pinwall.
