The B5338 was the A534 into Nantwich from the east. It gained its present number when Class I roads were removed from the town centre in the 2000s.
The road starts at a mini-roundabout on the B5074 just north of Churche's Mansion and heads east along the residential Crewe Road. This is lined with terraced houses to begin with but shortly it becomes a tree-lined avenue with large houses set back a distance from the road. It's not long before we come in sight of open fields, although there are still some buildings on both sides for the remainder of the route. After passing an old school, now a business centre, the road ends at a roundabout on the A51 bypass; the A534 reappears as the road ahead.
