The B5387 was a short link road to the west of Kettering town centre. The road was originally unclassified but gained the number around 1930. Today, however, the road is part of a rerouted A6003.
The road started on the A43 (now A6013) Northampton Road and headed north along Northfield Avenue, with the Midland Main Line on the left. The A6 (present A4300) was soon crossed, after which road and railway line separated as the B5387 bore off to the right. After running through the suburbs the road ended on the A6003 Rockingham Road.
