The B5347 number was allocated in the late 1920s to a previously unclassified road to the west of Northampton town centre. It has now been upgraded in its entirety to become part of the A5080.
Starting on the A45 near the station at the bottom of Black Lion Hill the road headed north along St Andrew's Road, parallel to the railway line out of sight to the left. It wasn't long before the B567 Grafton Street was crossed. After more than the same distance again heading north the road bore off to the right. It changed its name to Burleigh Road just before ending on the A508 Kingsthorpe Road.
