This article is about the A2(M) that was renumbered to M2 before being built and is also known as the Medway Towns bypass.
For the unbuilt Dover Radial Route which would have run between Kidbrooke and Falconwood, see A2(M) (Kidbrooke - Falconwood).

The A2(M) was the number originally allocated to the modern-day M2. The number was used almost until the opening, however was changed at the last minute after the cancellation of the proposed "Future Channel Ports Motorway" (which may have been the modern-day M20) and an article in the Daily Telegraph which referred to the motorway throughout as "M2".
