The B5257 is a short urban link road in central Lancashire.
The road starts at traffic lights on the B5254 (former A582) at Tardy Gate in Lostock Hall and heads east along the largely residential Brownedge Road.
After crossing a bridge over a dismantled railway line the road reaches the A6, which it crosses at a roundabout. The original line of the B5257 was slightly to the south and is still in existence although closed to vehicles.
The B5257 continues east through Bamber Bridge, although it has to bear left at a mini-roundabout. It ends shortly afterwards at traffic lights on the B6258 (pre-bypass A6).
