The A6 (former B5271) near Catterall

The original B5271 was a short link road between the A586 and A6 at Catterall in central Lancashire.

In the early 1930s the route became a part of the A6 in its entirety when that road was diverted to follow the new western bypass of Garstang, which had officially opened on 22 October 1928.
