For the original route of the B5264, also in Blackpool, see B5264 (Devonshire Road, Blackpool).
For the present use near Preston, see B5264.
Following the demise of the original B5264 in Blackpool, with the A587 being re-routed along it, using a new road to the north, the former route of the A587 was given the number B5264. This ran along Bispham Road south from the fork with the A587 to the A586, with a brief kink along Plymouth Road and Benson Road to avoid Layton Station (this is a brief multiplex with the B5265).
Following further construction works to the east of Blackpool, the A587 has now been rerouted onto its original line once more, its former route including the original B5264 is now the B5124. However, the Ordnance Survey still show the last little bit along Benson Road and the final part of Bispham Road as being the B5264, despite it not being shown on any other maps, nor signed on the ground.
