For the original B5208 through Haydock in the same county, see B5208 (Haydock).
The B5208 is a short link road in the Lancashire town of Southport. The road was originally part of the A565 but gained its Class II number when that road was rerouted early on.
The road starts on the A565 Lulworth Road to the southwest of Southport town centre and heads southeast along the residential Aughton Road. Presently the Merseyrail Northern Line is crossed at a level crossing, after which we bear right at a mini-roundabout. We follow Everton Road, which has no central line, and reach the northern end of the B5243 by St Peter's Church. The central white lines comes back as we follow St Peter's Road to a crossroads, where we TOTSO left onto Liverpool Road. The A5267 comes in from the left at traffic lights one block south and the B5208 ends as that road takes on the road ahead.
Prior to the inauguration of the A5267 the B5208 continued ahead along the rest of the bypassed original section of A565 for over a mile to reach the present route of that road on the southern side of town.
