The B5220 was an inner-city route connecting the Manchester districts of Rusholme (on the original route of the A526, renumbered A34 in 1935 and now the B5117), Longsight (on the A6), and Gorton (on the A57), south-east of the city centre.
Today, the section west of the A6, along Dickenson Road, has been upgraded to become a part of the A6010 Intermediate Ring Road, whilst the remainder of the route, consisting of Stanley Grove, Northmoor Road and Kirkmanshulme Lane, is now unclassified.
