This article is about the possible former use of the B5290 in Manchester.
For the current B5290 in northern Lancashire, see B5290.
For the original use of the number in the Lake District, see B5290 (Keswick - Bothel).

The 1930 Michelin map, and the 1932 and 1933 OS 10 Miles to One Inch maps show the number B5290 allocated to most of what is now the A5103 Princess Parkway / Princess Road running though southern Manchester out to the A560 on the southwest side of Northenden (in the new suburb of Wythenshawe). On the 1934 Bartholomew's One Inch Merseyside sheet, however, this road is numbered B529, which would appear to be in error.
Having said that, the 1934 edition of the OS Ten Mile Road Map shows the road as being upgraded to the A5103, with the current use of the B5290 number near Lancaster also being present, putting an end stop on the use of the number here.
