The B5236 is a short road that heads northwards from the A58 at Westhoughton up to the A6 at Wingates, in south Lancashire.
It provides a short-cut from between the two roads, without the need to pass through Westhoughton town centre. It is also the main access route to Westhoughton Railway Station, and starts and finishes at signal-controlled junctions.
