For the original route near Lancaster, see B5276 (Lancaster).
The B5276 is a short road through the eastern suburbs of Southport. It was originally unclassified but had gained its number by the late 1940s.
The road starts at traffic lights on the A5267 Roe Lane and heads south along the residential and largely straight Norwood Avenue. We climb to cross over the Southport to Wigan railway line by Meols Cop station; there is a signalised crossroads with an unclassified road at the top of the bridge. On returning to ground level the road becomes residential once more and becomes more suburban as it continues south.
The road name changes to Meols Cop Road and we pass a school before crossing a stream. We now run between a retail park on the left and recreation ground on the right for a short distance before reaching journey's end at a roundabout on the A570.
