The B1302 is a short link road to the south of South Shields town centre.
It starts at a mini-roundabout on the B1298 where that road turns from Boldon Lane onto Stanhope Road. It heads northwest along the remainder of Boldon Lane, passing Tyne Dock metro station before following Hudson Street to its end at a roundabout on the A194.
The original B1302
The original route of the B1302 (which did not include Boldon Lane) continued north through the dockyard and industrial area along Temple Town and Commercial Road, explaining why the B1301 ends on an unclassified road, before ending at the original northern end of the A19 in the Market Place, adjacent to what was then a vehicle ferry to North Shields.
