The B4499 is a short B-road in west Shropshire. It was originally unclassified but gained its number around 1930.
The road starts at the western end of Brockton on the B4386 and heads south across the fields along a narrow road that doesn't seem to have been upgraded since classification. Initially it crosses the flat land towards the hills ahead; as the road reaches contour lines it bears to the left and climbs slightly, running along the valley side. Although the road remains fairly flat the views of the hills on the other side of the valley are very good.
We remain rural and pass through no places of any size before reaching Minsterley at the far end of the road. On the near side of the village the B4387 comes in from the left at a mini-roundabout and takes on the road ahead, which quickly reaches the A488.
