Route outline (key) | ||||

In the original 1922 road numbering, the B4400 number was allocated to Oswald Road in Oswestry, Shropshire.
Starting at the junction with the A483 Cross Street and the A4083 Leg Street the B4400 headed northeastwards along Oswald Road to reach the town's railway stations. From here the present route of Oswald Road has been built on former railway land, as such the route of the B4400 bore left onto what was then a public road but is now the Aldi car park to end on the A483 Beatrice Street.
The route is now part of the town's one-way system, and carries southbound traffic along the B5069.
