The number B4430 was allocated in April 1924 to the previously unclassified Hillary Street in the Pleck area of Walsall
The road must have originally started on the A461 Bescot Road but was slightly cut back when the B4456 (today's A4148) was inaugurated along Wallows Lane a couple of years later. After running the full length of the residential Hillary Street it ended on Wednesbury Road (then part of the A461; now unclassified).
Hillary Street is today an unclassified road, and the junction with Wallows Lane at its southern end has been closed to vehicular traffic.
