The 1922 Road Lists describe the A1001 as Link in Tottenham (Bruce Grove). However, it was also projected to run along the then-under construction The Roundway and terminate on the original A108 at the southern end of Great Cambridge Road. It had done this by the end of the 1920s, after a short multiplex with the A109.
After general reorganisation and renumbering of London arterial roads in the early 1950s, it became the mainline of the A10.
