This article is about the original A1060 to the north of Newcastle upon Tyne.

The original route of the A1060 was a short link road in northern Newcastle upon Tyne.
It started on the A189 in West Moor, heading east along a short section of the Great Lime Road, before turning sharply south onto Benton Lane. After going over the railway line it ended on the A188 TOTSO in Longbenton, where it also met the A1059.
After World War II the road became part of a rerouted A188. Road improvements in the area mean that the northern section of the former A1060 has been bypassed.
