The C10w starts at Craigencross, where the A718 meets the B798. Heading south west from the crossroads, the road winds steeply up the hill, past High Challoch. It then follows a long straight section through Glenstockdale (not a glen as such), before winding round Core Hill and dipping gently to reach the B738 north of Portslogan
