This article is about the Class III road numbered C6n maintained by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

The C6n follows the Water of Ae upstream from the A701 at the west end of Ae Bridge. After passing through Ae Village, the river forks and the C6n keeps left to follow Windyhill Burn up to the watershed. The last little distance to the summit at Loch Ettrick is steeper than the route so far, which now turns south west and descends alongside the Pathouse Burn. Leaving this stream behind, the road meanders across the hillside to find the Garrock Race and follows it down in to the scattered village of Park, winding through to reach the A76 near Brownhill, immediately after crossing the railway.
