This article is about the Class III road numbered C5w maintained by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
For other roads numbered C5, see C5.
For other roads numbered C5, see C5.
The C5w serves the scattered communities of the west coast of the Rhins of Galloway. Its starts on the A716 at Ardwell and heads west, turning north west to pass through the tiny village of Clachanmore. Continuing north west, the road never reaches the coast, but is the closest road to it most of the time. It meanders across the undulating landscape, seemingly zig-zagging from one farmhouse or cottage to the next. In the scattered community of Kirklauchlane, the route turns north and a left turn continues the coast road, whilst the C5w runs north to meet the B7042 near Awhirk.
