This article is about the Class III road numbered C26w maintained by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
For other roads numbered C26, see C26.
For other roads numbered C26, see C26.
The C26w starts at a sharp fork on the A747 on the coast at West Barr, and climbs across the contours up the steep bank. A single track link drops back down to the main road from about half way up, but the junction is almost as tight a turn as the main one at the bottom. Once at the top, the road turns north to the village of Elrig, winding through and continuing past Eldrig Loch. Beyond the crossroads at Loch Head, the route becomes a lot straighter, with a mile long straight leading to the B7005 at Low Glenring.
