For other roads numbered C103, see C103.
The C103a starts on the B7076 immediately to the south of its junction with the A701 near Beattock. It heads east, passing under the A74(M) and the railway as it drops down to the River Annan. It crosses on Woodfoot Bridge, and quickly comes to an end on the C99a. Before the motorway was built, the route started closer to the underbridge, and so it now uses a short section of the old A74 at the western end.
