This article is about the Class III road numbered C19a maintained by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
For other roads numbered C19, see C19.
For other roads numbered C19, see C19.
The C19a starts on the B7076 near Sandyholm and initially heads east, meeting the older line of the A74 just before the railway bridge. It then turns right and follows it southwards briefly, with the council list implying there is also a spur under the railway to the junction immediately beyond. The mainline crosses the B7076 and A74(M) as it sweeps westwards to reach Millhousebridge. Here it crosses the River Annan, and then keeps north of Gotterbie Hill as it makes its way to Templand. After crossing the B7020 at this small village, the route dips to cross the Kinnel Water at Shaw Bridge, coming to an end soon after at the old district boundary near Cumrue. The road continues to head west to eventually reach the A701.
