After its original use was absorbed by the A5018, the A5017 number was re-used for Elliot Street and Parker Street, to the south west of Lime Street Station in Liverpool. The chronology of the existence of this route is not certain, but the route is now partially pedestrianised, with the east end of Elliot Street either part of the A5038 one way system, or possibly the A5044 which may or may not survive here.
