Route outline (key)
B782 Link at West Kilbride
The southern end of the B782

The B782 is a short link road to the north of the Ayrshire town of West Kilbride. It starts on the B781 Main Street in the narrow streets of West Kilbride town centre and heads north along Hunterston Road, which is one way northbound at first. It soon widens out, and a small mini roundabout has been inserted at the entrance to the school, beyond which it becomes two-way. A short distance later is reaches a roundabout, where the B7048 comes in from the left. To the right, St Brides Road forms part of the town centre one-way system for the B781, but is actually still unclassified. Continuing ahead along Drumilling Road, the B782 quickly reaches open country. It remains narrow as it crosses the fields, descending as it does so. Before long, it bears to the left to end at a T-junction on the A78. Although this is the coast road there is no view of the sea from here.

The 1922 MOT Road List defines this route as: West Kilbride - Junction with A78
