The B715 was a short link road to the east of Lanark.
It started on the A70 (which had come along the Pentland Hills from Edinburgh) and headed west for a couple of miles, to end on the A72 (now A73) in the centre of Lanark. The road was quickly upgraded to Class I status, being renumbered as the A743. This was the first A7xx number to be allocated after the original 1922 classification, so it is likely that the renumbering occurred in 1924. The route retains this number.
The 1922 MOT Road List defines this route as: Ravenstruther - Lanark
