This article is about the current B785 to the east of the Ayrshire town of Kilwinning. For the original B785 further north, see B785 (Largs - Lochwinnoch).
The B785 is a link road in North Ayrshire. It was originally unclassified but had gained its present number by 1932.
The road starts on the A737 on the eastern edge of Kilwinning. It heads east along Fergushill Road and soon leaves town, then continues along a fairly straight road across flat land. Presently the road bends sharply right and follows a winding course across the Lugton Water. A short distance further on there's another sharp right-hand bend.
The road now becomes straighter as it heads roughly southeastwards. It skirts Benslie and it's not long before a T-junction is met on the A736. The B785 ends here, just north of the outskirts of Irvine.
