This article is about the original B4128 in Birmingham city centre, now part of the inner ring road.
For the current B4128 to the east of the city centre, see B4128.

The B4128 was a short link road on the edge of Birmingham city centre.
It is likely that it started on the A456 Broad Street, although early maps showing the road are not of sufficiently large scale to confirm this. It then ran southeast along Suffolk Street, parallel to the A38 which followed John Bright Street. The two roads met where Holloway Circus is now.
The road was upgraded to Class I status fairly early on (the present B4128 was in existence by 1932), although owing to its short length it cannot be certain exactly which number it received. Certainly it was later upgraded considerably to become part of the A4400 Queensway. It is now numbered A38.
