For the current B20, south of Laxey, see B20 (Isle of Man).
The original B20 is a difficult route to identify. To date no maps have been found showing it, so we have to work on the text description from the original list in 1926. This implies that the B20 comprised two routes, forming an 'X' through Laxey, making a total of just over 2 miles.
The first part started in Laxey and ran down to the shore. This would appear to be the current B58, which starts on the A2 near the station and runs down Glen Road into Old Laxey. If indeed the route did continue onto the promenade then, after crossing the Old Laxey Bridge, the B20 probably followed Tent Road past the harbour, now the B60. However, the description also states that the route ran from South Cape to Minorca, which is approximately the route of the current B1, meeting the A2 again at either end. These routes added together do not, however, total 2 miles. Whatever the original position, the route had been renumbered, as above, before 1963, with the B20 number reused a little to the south.
