This article is about the original B23, now the A29 near Port Erin.
For the current B23 at Port Soderick, see B23 (Isle of Man).

The original B23 started on the original line of the A5 at a crossroads which is now Ballagawne Roundabout and headed south, past Rushen Church to another crossroads, now the Four Roads Roundabout on the A7. It was renumbered as the A29 before 1963. However, the A29 continued south into Port St Mary, and it is not clear whether this happened before renumbering, meaning that the B23 was extended further south, or not.
The Manx Government Circular 1131 of 25/02/1926 defines this route as: Ballagawne to Four-roads via Rushen Church
