For the original B20 in Laxey, see B20 (Laxey).
The B20 starts at a T junction on the A2 above Onchan, and continues to climb up hill while the main road levels out. It winds northwards across fields, passing a couple of houses at the junction but no more, although farms can be glimpsed on the hillside, accessed down narrow lanes. Much of the route has the typical Manx road banks topped by gorse hedges, but there are some stunning views to be glimpsed over them. The route straightens up as it climbs, and then levels out as it passes a large viewpoint car park and picnic site. A little beyond this, another house sits at the bottom of a farm drive, but that it the last. A sharp left hand bend at a junction brings the route alongside the bottom of a forestry plantation, at the far end of which the B20 comes to an end at a TOTSO junction. The road curves around a horseshoe bend and becomes the B12, which also continues to the right.
