For the current B4047, the former A40 west of Witney, see B4047.
Originally, the B4047 was a short rural B-road near Bristol in south Gloucestershire. The road is now defunct and Bristol has now expanded to make its line quite urban.
The B4047 started on the A430 at Warmley. It headed northwest along Stanley Road and Station Road, eventually reaching Staple Hill. It then headed due west along the High Street, soon crossing the A4017 and ending on the A432 in Fishponds.
The road seems to have lasted until 1935. In the renumberings of that year the B4047 was shared between the B4427 (which got the Warmley to Staple Hill section) and the B4465 (which got the rest). Later, the ex-B4047 section of the B4427 was upgraded to Class I status, becoming the A4175. The southern section of the ex-B4047 was severed with the construction of the A4174 and is now unclassified and closed to through traffic.
