The B41 starts at a T junction on the A3 at Silverdale near Ballasalla and heads west, quickly curving round to the north. At first it is just about wide enough for two cars to pass, but it soon narrows as it gently climbs through fields, passing the occasional farm. The B40 comes in from the left just as the route is dipping down to cross the Silver Burn at Grenaby, a group of houses clustered around the bridge where half appear to be derelict. An initially steep climb soon eases, but the road is rarely straight for more than a few metres as it winds up the hill, through an endless series of kinks and bends. A few buildings are scattered along the roadside towards the top, which is finally reached as the B40 ends at a crossroads on the B39. The track ahead climbs up to the Round Table junction.
