The C1147 is the main access to the Fort William suburb of Inverlochy. Indeed, it is essentially the only vehicular access, although Black Parks Road is not closed up, and can be used as an alternative. The C1147 runs the length of Earl of Inverness Road, starting at the controversial Inverlochy Roundabout and heading north west, over the railway bridge and into Inverlochy. After passing the school, it becomes Montrose Avenue, runs past the shops and car park, and comes to an end on Lochy Road.
