The C1227 runs along the Waternish Peninsula on Skye. It starts at a TOTSO on the B886 at Stein, the through route at the junction being two dead ends! It quickly turns to run north west along the southern side of the peninsula, through Hallin to another TOTSO junction. The road ahead leads out to the famous Trumpan Church, a popular tourist destination, but this is just a U road. The C1227 turns right and climbs up and over the low ridge of Waternish to Knockbreck, where it turns north to run along the east coast of the peninsula , terminating at the northern end of the unremarkable village of Geary.
