C1166 (Highland)

The C1166 is East Bay Road in Mallaig. Starting where the B8008 reaches the foot of the hill and turns left to pass the station, it curves south-east, east and then north around the bay, with much of the shore side lined with parking areas. The route then comes to an end as it turns a hairpin to start climbing the hill. The end of the C1166 is therefore the junction with Mallaigvaig Road - this is the old road, with all other roads in this part of Mallaig dating from when the housing estate was built.

Some maps have previously shown B8008 ending at the foot of the hill, implying that Station Road was also part of C1166, but this appears to be an error as it is not supported by current mapping, signage or the Highland Council's List of Roads, all of which confirm that B8008 continues along Station Road.
